Kara Smith - President’s Volunteer Service Award Recipient
Kara was awarded the PVSA recently for her dedication to working with both young and old. Tara volunteers with Tutor Volunteer on the weekends, helping to educate young children with reading, writing, and speaking while also taking part in language immersion events. She also spends time at a nearby senior assisted living facility, where she plays games, plays the piano, and listens to veterans who have served their nation, making a positive impact on the lives of sixty people. Kara claims that she was driven to give back to her community at an early age and that this love for service was ingrained in her.
Mostafa Amir- President's Life Time Achievement Award Recipient
Mostafa, a U.S. Marine and a graduate of Trident University with a Bachelor of Science in Leadership and a Master of Science in Homeland Security, is the youngest volunteer in our organization to receive the prestigious President's Lifetime Achievement Award. He earned this recognition for his outstanding dedication to tutoring and educational outreach at Tutor Volunteer.
Mostafa's tireless efforts involved spending numerous hours tutoring his peers, organizing study groups, and selflessly volunteering to support underprivileged students. His commitment to education has been acknowledged and appreciated by both his fellow volunteers and the students he has helped.
Despite already achieving significant academic success, Mostafa's passion for education remains unwavering. He currently pursues a Doctorate in Business Administration, further expanding his knowledge and expertise to better support students in their educational journey.
Mostafa's exemplary efforts and ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in students' lives truly exemplify the spirit of the President's Lifetime Achievement Award.
